I found my notebook and I saw this recipe. I think I got this from EHOW.COM or ABOUT.COM – DIY Makeup Setting Spray
Why don’t I just buy?
Well… I can make my own and it is a lot cheaper than getting the commercialized setting spray.
The materials/ingredients are less than P100
- Spray Bottle – P24.75
- Distilled Water – P10.00
- Glycerin (Small Bottle) – P39.00 (Watsons or any Pharmacy)
We all want to make our makeup last at least 8 – 12 hours that is why setting sprays are invented.
How does it work?
If you’ll notice if the eye shadow is wet it lasts longer. Same technique with makeup if it is mixed with water it will dissolve and will adhere to the skin making it last longer.
Some will just use water for this but I added Glycerin and Emu Oil to my recipe.
Why Glycerin?
Glycerin retains skin’s moisture making it look more supple. It is found in most body lotions, facial moisturizers, soaps, and beauty creams.
It has a water binding capabilities. It pulls out water from the inner surface to the outer surface of the skin.
Glycerin is also considered as the second skin as it can fills lines and pores.
This is also suitable for oily skin and can treat acne.
There are so many beauty products that you can make out of glycerin.
If you have sensitive skin you can replace the glycerin with Aloe Juice as it has calming properties.
So let’s start? 
- Get your spray bottle and make sure it’s clean.
- Pour 3 parts of water into the bottle
- Then add 1 part of glycerin
- Shake well and return the lid. VOILA! Your own makeup spray!
- Place it in the refrigerator before using it.
Do not make too many of this because since there’s no preservative it will deteriorate in a short span of life. It will last for 2 – 3 weeks when kept inside the fridge.
To use:
Just spray it on after your final powder and let it dry. Do not wipe, okay?
I like how refreshing it is because it is cold. Believe me your makeup will stay intact. It doesn’t feel heavy and oily too.
Aside from using it as makeup spray you may use this to wet your brush before using it or mix it to your eye shadow / brow powder.

Thank you so much for this sis!!! I’ve always wanted to buy the Skindinavia one or MAC Fix+ Spray but they’re just so expensive that I go back and forth whether to buy a bottle or not. Will buy glycerin this week and try this DIY setting spray by the weekend 😀

amazing recipe! now i know why i shud that spray i am such a noob about this things oh! my husband use glycerin as well as his lotion like srsly it doesnt dry his skin at all

Great DIY! Very helpful but I’m not sure how much the glycerin will cost..it may not cost much but my fridge is full of foods..haha
