L.A. Girl Pressed Powder

Beauty & Style

In order to control shine throughout the day I bring a pressed powder with me, you know loose powder can be messy. My go to pressed powder is this L.A. Girl Pressed Powder & Puff in Natural.

I was really not looking for a powder when I bought it but the SA is very persistent as it is on sale. So we used the HD Concealer (will review soon) all over my face and then put this powder over it.

Let’s look at the packaging.

I like how sleek the packaging looks like. I like black casings because they look classy plus the brand is embossed which guarantees that it won’t fade.

The puff is located beneath the product. It’s a plus point for me because it won’t contaminate the product when the puff is already used. I don’t like a dirty puff and I see to it that I wash is every night. If I failed to do so I won’t use the puff anymore. I will use tissue paper instead.

Though it’s not a dual foundation (wet & dry) the puff container still has holes so that air can pass through the puff and dry it if necessary.

The puff is very soft but not so fluffy. It’s not a sponge, I am not sure what material it is but it’s thinner than a real powder puff (baby powder puff as reference).

Let’s take a look at the swatch.

I got the shade natural and this not the kind of powder that will add tint to your face, this is more of a translucent pressed powder.

Perfect for setting your foundation and/or BB Cream or simply use it to retouch your face in the afternoon.

I used it twice a day.  First in the morning to set my BB Cream and Concealer, second before I leave for work if I appear shiny at the end of my shift.

Additional Babbles:

  • It feels really light on the skin
  • It doesn’t cake
  • It doesn’t have a weird smell
  • I don’t develop breakouts after using it
  • Can be used alone
  • The amount of product is lesser than I expected because I’ve been using it for a month and I am hitting the pan already.

This costs Php462 when I got it. It’s around Php900 when not on sale (I have to double check). I wish it will be always on sale so that I can grab another compact.

Available in L.A. Girls Counter at Watsons and Leading Department Stores.

What powder do you have in your purse?

Happy Monday!
